ARCFOX Alpha T6

2026-10-03 20:50:00

Model Overview

The ARCFOX Alpha T6 is a mid-size all-electric SUV launched by ARCFOX, an EV marque under BAIC BJEV, which officially went on sale on 2 April 2025. The new model is essentially a rebranded update of the ARCFOX Alpha T, positioned as a "luxury, spacious all-electric SUV". It is underpinned by the brand's high-end BE21 platform and built at the Magna Bluepark advanced smart manufacturing base.

The 2025 Alpha T6 debuted with two single-motor variants: the 688MAX 160 kW and 175 kW, both priced at RM195,800. On 27 March 2026, the 2026 600ULTRA dual-motor AWD variant was officially introduced with a retail price of RM215,800.

Design Language

The Alpha T6 retains the signature family design language of the ARCFOX Alpha T. Up front, it features a closed-off front grille complemented by "X"-shaped radiating lines, symbolising the drive to push boundaries; full-width character lines lend the front fascia a muscular presence. The headlamp assemblies feature a smoked finish and integrate projector lenses alongside sharp daytime running lights (DRLs); vertical air curtains flank the front fenders, flanked below by a trapezoidal black air intake. An illuminated brand logo and gull-wing DRLs further accentuate its high-tech appeal.

The side profile showcases an upswept waistline, flush pop-out door handles, and five-spoke blade-style alloy wheels. The rear is highlighted by a full-width LED light bar and a substantial black rear bumper cladding. Body dimensions measure 4,788 × 1,940 × 1,683 mm, with a wheelbase of 2,915 mm. A new Soft Light Gold paint option has been introduced, available alongside Ice Grey and three other exterior colours.

Inside, the cabin features a wraparound cockpit layout, with the centre stack angled subtly towards the driver. It comes equipped with a two-spoke multifunction steering wheel, a fully digital instrument cluster, and a dual-screen setup spanning the centre and front passenger areas; compared with the Alpha T, the new model adopts an integrated screen panel and revised split air-conditioning vents, while doing away with the standalone lower control screen on the centre console.

Powertrain and Performance

The Alpha T6 offers two powertrain options: single-motor front-wheel drive (FWD) and dual-motor all-wheel drive (AWD).

2025 Single-Motor Variant: Powered by a front-mounted permanent magnet synchronous motor, available in two output tunes: 160 kW (218 PS) and 175 kW (238 PS), both producing a peak torque of 320 Nm. The official 0-100 km/h sprint is completed in 8.4 seconds. Energy is stored in a ternary lithium battery pack with capacities of 93.6 kWh and 94.5 kWh (the 175 kW variant also offers a 91.8 kWh option). Both deliver a CLTC pure-electric driving range of 688 km. DC fast charging from 30% to 80% state of charge (SoC) takes approximately 30 minutes.

2026 Dual-Motor AWD Variant (600ULTRA): Features a front and rear dual-motor setup, churning out a total system output of 320 kW (approximately 435 PS) and a peak torque of 720 Nm. The century sprint from 0-100 km/h takes just 4.6 seconds. The CLTC combined range is rated at 600 km.

The entire line-up is electronically limited to a top speed of 180 km/h. Energy consumption is estimated at 16 kWh/100 km. First non-commercial owners are entitled to a lifetime warranty covering the battery, electric motor, and electronic control unit (three-electric components).

Chassis and Handling

The Alpha T6 utilises a monocoque body structure, configured in either front-wheel drive (single-motor models) or dual-motor all-wheel drive. Suspension duties are handled by a front MacPherson strut and a rear multi-link independent setup. It features an aluminium-alloy suspension system tuned by Magna, sharing engineering pedigree with premium German marques such as BMW and Mercedes-Benz. Delivering a planted ride and precise steering response, it is also equipped with the Bosch iBooster regenerative braking system.

High-strength steel and aluminium alloys account for 91.1% of the body structure, with extensive use of aluminium components and galvanised sheets, resulting in high-corrosion-resistant materials exceeding 70%. Ground clearance stands at 160 mm. Tyre setups include 235/50 R19 tyres (2025 model) or 20-inch alloy wheels (2026 model). Stopping power is managed by front and rear ventilated disc brakes paired with an Electronic Parking Brake (EPB).

Cabin and Features

On the tech front, the 2025 model is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 chip running the latest ARCFOX OS HMI system; the 2026 variant is upgraded with a 20.3-inch 4K infotainment touchscreen alongside a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, likewise backed by the 8155 chip and α-OS intelligent system. The operating system integrates DeepSeek AI and an AI large-model voice assistant, supporting Huawei HiCar and Apple CarPlay smartphone connectivity.

In terms of convenience and comfort, the seats feature a "10-layer laminated comfort design", with all seats equipped with heating, ventilation, and an 8-point massage function (featuring 8 massage programmes and 3 intensity levels); the rear seats also support seat heating and power adjustment. Additional cabin amenities include a heated steering wheel, a 12-speaker Harman sound system, a panoramic glass roof, a heat-pump climate control system, a 65W fast-charging USB port in the rear, and 3.5 kW Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) external power capability. Boot capacity is rated at 462 litres, expanding to 1,357 litres when the rear seats are folded down. The cabin utilises "zero-aldehyde and zero-benzene" eco-friendly materials, attaining child-safe "teether-grade" interior health standards.

Safety and Driver Assistance

The Alpha T6 comes standard with the Level 2 α-Pilot Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS). The 2025 model is equipped with Full-Speed Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Lane Centring Assist (LCA), Active Lane Change Assist (ALCA), Automated Parking Assist (APA), and navigation-assisted pilot driving. The 2026 model further incorporates an AI large-model-powered voice assistant.

In terms of passive safety, the vehicle is constructed on a high-strength steel-aluminium hybrid architecture. The 2025 model comes standard with a Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), front and rear parking sensors, and a 360-degree surround-view camera. The 2026 model builds upon this foundation, highlighted by the upgraded 20.3-inch 4K centre touchscreen.

Market Performance and Reception

The Alpha T6 received a relatively muted reception following its debut. Following its initial rollout in April 2025, the two variants generated modest online traction, with order books and delivery figures largely kept under wraps. Deliveries recorded 1,325 units in April 2026, followed by 311 units in May 2026.

In terms of user feedback, several media test drives noted that the suspension damping is tuned on the firmer side, providing somewhat average bump absorption over poorly paved roads. Industry analysts observe that as a renamed iteration of the Alpha T, the product leap of the Alpha T6 remains relatively modest. In the competitive sub-RM200,000 all-electric mid-size SUV category, the Alpha T6 remains a viable contender with its generous 2,915 mm wheelbase, 688 km range, and Qualcomm 8155-powered digital cockpit; however, brand awareness and market buzz remain its primary hurdles.
